زَرتُشت یا زَردُشت یا اشوزَرتُشت، پیامبر ایران باستان بود؛ که مزدیسنا را بنیان گذاشت.[۱] وی سراینده گاتاها، کهن‌ترین بخش اوستا است. زادگاه و زادروز وی دقیقاً روشن نیست، هرچند زمان زایش او ۶۰۰ تا ۱۲۰۰ پیش از میلاد مسیح گمان زده می‌شود و زادگاه وی را به مناطق مختلفی مانند شهر ری، آذربایجان، خوارزم، سیستان، خراسان و آمل نسبت داده‌اند. آموزش‌های زرتشت بعدها با باورهای بومی ایرانیان آمیخته شد و مزدیسنای کنونی را پدیدآورد که نزدیک به پنج سده دین رسمی ایران نیز بوده‌است. نام زرتشت در فهرست یکصد نفره انسان‌های تأثیرگذار تاریخ که توسط مایکل هارت تنظیم شده‌است، قرار دارد . دین زرتشت امروزه حدود ۲۰۰ هزار تن پیرو در ایران، هند و برخی نقاط دیگر جهان دارد. نرم افزار پیش رو حاوی جملات و سخنان حکمت آموز این پیامبر بزرگ ایران باستان می باشد.
