For properly reminders function you have to add the application to the whitelist of energy optimization settings (Settings - Notifications in standby mode). ATTENTION: Some manufacturers (mainly Chinese) build into Android their own power management logic which cause background applications forcedly stopped in standby mode and may prevent notification to fire in proper time.
