To re-open borders without quarantine and restart aviation airlines and governments need to be confident that they are effectively mitigating the risk of transmission of disease. This means having up to date information on passengers’ health status. The IATA Travel Pass is a digital platform for passengers which allows airlines and governments to do this.

It allows passengers to find accurate information on travel testing and vaccine requirements for their journey. Authorised labs and test centres can then send the results to each passenger in a verifiable safe and private way. Passengers can also scan health certificate QR code from 34 countries with many more to come across the globe.
While many governments accept electronic presentation of test and vaccine certificate on a mobile device only a few endorse specific solutions publicly but we are working with them to communicate more broadly about it. The government of Panama officially endorses IATA Travel Pass and we are sure more will follow this path.

IATA Travel Pass is based on 'Self-sovereign identity' giving the passenger complete control over their data. It gives each passenger a digital wallet to store all of their travel documentation - including biometric passports - and choose who to share it with.
