The Ethiopian Primary Health Care Clinical Guidelines is an
integrated symptom-based algorithmic approach to address the common
presenting symptoms and priority chronic conditions in the country.
The scope of what is covered in chronic conditions for adults and
long-term health conditions for older children includes:
cardiovascular diseases; diabetes; chronic respiratory diseases;
mental health musculoskeletal disorders; and women’s health. The
Guidelines provides basic management principles to deal with these
diseases at a health center level in an integrated user-friendly
way to support health workers to provide care that is
evidence-informed compliant with local guidelines comprehensive
compassionate and respectful.
