• Google Drive Backup: You can now back up your chats and media to Google Drive, so if you lose your phone, switch or upgrade to a new Android phone, you can easily restore your chats and media. You can set up backups in Settings > Chats and Calls > Chat backup.

• Starred messages: Now you can tap and hold on any message in a chat to star it so you can easily find it later (works like a bookmark). You can browse starred messages from the Chats tab > Menu > Starred Messages.
