VR-Architectureâ„¢ is a technology demonstration of a hand-drawn
floor plan transformation into a 3D model on Androidâ„¢ device. It
demonstrates an implementation of the algorithm that accepts an
image file of a hand-drawn sketch taken with an Android device
camera and converts it into a 3D model using Teigha® Kernel
technology.
The resulting 3D model can be further opened and modified using an off-the-shelf CAD application like Autodesk® AutoCAD® as well as viewed it using VR devices like Google Cardboard or similarly capable VR Gasses.
VR-Architecture demonstrates the following capabilities:
• Selecting a ready floor plan from Dropbox Google Drive or SD card
• Uploading a picture of a floor plan sketch that is drawn on the mobile device without any special tools
• Recognizing doors windows and walls
• Recognizing furniture
• Building a corresponding 3D model in DWG format
• Adjusting parameters for the real model
• Viewing the model using Google Cardboard™ or similarly capable VR glasses.
It supports the following image formats: .bmp .jpeg .jpg .jpe .png .pbm .pgm .ppm .sr .ras .
User-friendly and intuitive UI doesn’t require any special knowledge or experience with CAD or AEC software.
