ព្រះធម៌​ ​ឬ​ធម្មៈ​ ​(​Dharma​ ​or​ ​Dhamma​)​ ​ដែល​ព្រះពុទ្ធ​បាន​សម្តែង​អស់​រយៈពេល​ ​៤៥​ ​ឆ្នាំ​ ​ត្រូវ​បាន​ព្រះ​អរិយសាវ័ក​ ​ប្រមូលចងក្រង​មាន​ចំនួន​ប្រាំបី​ម៉ឺន​បួន​ពាន់​ ​(​៨៤០០០​)​ ​ព្រះ​ធម្មក្ខន្ធ​ ​។​ ​ពួក​សាសន​វិ​ទូ​បស្ចឹម​ប្រទេស​ ​ហៅ​ព្រះធម៌​ថា​ ​ទស្សនវិជ្ជា​ ​(​Philosophy​)​ ​។​

​ព្រះធម៌​នេះ​ ​កាល​ព្រះសម្មាសម្ពុទ្ធ​គង់​ព្រះជន្ម​ ​ជាធរមាន​នៅឡើយ​ ​មិន​មាន​ចារឹក​ជា​អក្សរ​ទេ​ ​។​ ​ក្រោយ​ព្រះពុទ្ធ​បរិនិព្វាន​ ​ព្រះ​អរិយសាវ័ក​ច្រើន​អង្គ​ ​បាន​ធ្វើ​សង្គាយនា​ ​(​ផ្ទៀងផ្ទាត់​)​ ​ពុទ្ធវចនៈ​ ​ហើយ​ទន្ទេញ​ចាំ​រត់មាត់​ ​រក្សា​ព្រះ​ធម៌​តៗ​គ្នា​ ​ពី​ជំនាន់​មួយ​ ​ទៅ​ជំនាន់​មួយទៀត​ ​ទុក​រហូតមកដល់​បច្ចុប្បន្ន​នេះ​ ​។​
