كلنا نعلم أن الشيطان هو عدو الإنسان اللدود منذ الأزل ، فمنذ بدء الخلق ؛ أي منذ خلق الله عزوجل سيدنا آدم عليه السلام رفض أن يسجد له ، بحُجّة أنه خُلقَ من نار و سيدنا آدم خُلق من طين ، فكان يرى نفسه أسمى من أن يسجد له ، لذلك قام الله عزوجل بطرده من رحمته و ألقى عليه غضبه إلى يوم القيامة ، كما في قوله تعالى : " إن الشيطان لكم عدو فاتخذوه عدواً " ، فقام بالتوعد لبني البشر بأن يغويهم جميعهم . فالشيطان يأتي للإنسان في حالة الغفلة ، يستغلُّ ضعفَهُ و يوسوس له ، لكن يجب أن تكون ارادته أقوى من الشيطان و وسوسته ، فلا نتبع خطوات الشيطان و نسير وراءه دون تفكير ، و لكن علينا ألاَّ نرمي بكل أخطائنا و آثامنا على عاتق الشيطان ، فالنفسُ أمّارةٌ بالسّوء ، فعلينَا دائِماً مُواجَهة أنفسنا ، فكيد الشيطان ضعيف ، لذلك يجب علينا أن لا نعلّق كل آثامنا و خطايانا على الشيطان ، فإرادتنا لها الدور الكبير في التخلص من وسوسته ، لكن إذا استسلمنا لوسوسته فإن الشيطان سيسيطر علينا ويجعلنا نتبع خطواته.
