جاء "قصص العرب" فى أربعة أجزاء مقسمة إلى أبواب مختلفة:

الباب الثالث: قصص الكرم والكرماء ، والبخل والبخلاء ، والغنى والأغنياء ، والفقر والفقراء ، والطعام وآدابه ، والضيافة وآداب المضيف ، والطفيليين.
الباب الرابع: قصص العقلاء والأذكياء ، والحمقى والمغفلين.
الباب الخامس: قصص الملوك والخلفاء والوزراء..
الباب السادس: قصص الفصحاء والبلغاء والخطب والخطباء والوصايا الحسنة والشعر والشعراء وسرقاتهم والكتابة والكتاب.
الباب السابع: الحيل والخداع واليقظة والتبصر فى الأمور.
الباب الثامن: قصص المغنين والمغنيات.
الباب التاسع: قصص نساء العرب.
الباب العاشر: قصص العرب فى الجاهلية وأوابدهم والكهانة والقيامة ، والزجر ، والعرافة ، والفأل ، والطيرة والفراسة ، والأساطير.
