Drink Guard app is a virtual breathalyzer thanks to which you can
quickly and conveniently add alcoholic beverages and conduct an
hour-long simulation of blood alcohol content.
The main functions of this application are:
âmonitoring the estimated blood alcohol content for the current hour
âpossibility of adding to the calculation of alcoholic beverages with future consumption time. This enables to plan the maximum amount of alcohol consumed in order to achieve sobriety at the desired time
âestimating the hours of sobriety
Adding beverage in two ways:
âafter selection of its type adjustment of parameters (i.e. percentage and strength) and determination of consumption time
âbased on the history of added beverages. It will be added for the current time
The application contains a set of information on the influence of alcohol on the body as well as principles of the application functions e.g.:
âinformation on current symptoms
âwhat affects the absorption of alcohol
âmethods for improving well-being on the next day
On the summary screen you will find an hourly estimation of alcohol content which enables tracking the progress of alcohol metabolism.
It is also possible to count the added beverages. They are grouped by alcoholic strength and their volume and quantity is added in total.
The algorithm used in Drink Guard is based on a document: Computing a BAC Estimate (BAC – blood alcohol concentration) created by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In order to calculate the estimated blood alcoholic strength it shall take into account the following factors:
• weight
• sex
• metabolism
• quantity of beverages consumed
• volume of beverages consumed
• alcoholic strength of the beverages consumed
• drinking time of the beverages
An important factor influencing the calculation of alcohol level is the individual speed of alcohol metabolism. Drink Guard enables modification of the averaged value adopted in the above document.
Please note that Drink Guard is a virtual breathalyzer and the alcohol level calculation may differ from the professional breathalyzer test or blood test results.
