فرهنگنامه ی عمید شامل واژه‌های فارسی، لغات عربی، اروپایی و ترکی به کار رفته در زبان فارسی است که به همراه اصطلاحات ادبی و علمی به دست حسن عمید نوشته شده‌است. حسن عمید در سال ۱۳۳۲ واژه‌نامه‌ای را به نام فرهنگ نو تکمیل و به چاپ رسانید که جلد اول آن در سال ۱۳۰۸ به چاپ رسیده بود. فرهنگ فارسی عمید نخستین بار در سال ۱۳۳۵ در ۹۳۶ صفحه با قطع کوچک چاپ شد و بعد از گذشت ده سال این فرهنگ با اصلاحات و افزودن واژه‌های بیشتر در سال ۱۳۴۲ هجری خورشیدی و در ۱۱۱۴ صفحه منتشر شد.
حسن عمید نویسنده ی این واژه نامه در نیمهٔ دوم سده ۱۳ هجری خورشیدی، در شهر مشهد چشم به جهان گشود. آموزش او در همان شهر انجام شد. عمید در جوانی عضو انجمن ادبی شد و کار روزنامه‌نگاری، نویسندگی و فرهنگ‌نویسی را از همان سال‌ها آغاز کرد. او در نشریهٔ خراسان می‌نوشت. از جمله مهمترین فعالیت‌های روزنامه‌نگاری حسن عمید در مشهد، سردبیری سالنامهٔ خراسان و روزنامهٔ طوس بود. وی در سال ۱۳۱۳ چاپ روزنامه طوس را به صورت هفتگی در مشهد آغاز کرد. او سال‌ها در خراسان به پیشهٔ روزنامه‌نگاری‌اش مشغول بود.
The encyclopedia contains Persian Arabic European and Turkish words used in Persian written by Hassan Ami along with literary and scientific terms. Hassan Amid completed and published a glossary called Modern Culture in the first year the first volume of which was published in the second year. Amid Persian culture was first published in 2 pages in 2 pages with a small cut and after ten years it was published in 2 pages in 8 AH with modifications and additional words.
Author Hassan Amid was born in Mashhad in the second half of the 5th century AH. His training was in the same city. Amid joined the literary community at a young age and began her career in journalism writing and writing. He wrote in Khorasan Magazine. One of the most important activities of Hassan Amid's journalism in Mashhad was the editorship of the Khorasan calendar and the Toos newspaper. He began publishing the weekly Toos newspaper in Mashhad in the second year. He worked for his journalism career in Khorasan for many years.
