Bihar VanMitra mobile app has been developed by the Department of Environment Forest and Climate Change Government of Bihar to support Mission 2.51 crore Plantation Campaign under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. The objective of this campaign is to involve the masses in Plantation programmes to increase awareness and sensitivity towards environmental protection. It will help in reaching out and empowering every citizen in the state in expanding green cover in Bihar by facilitating quick access to various services offered by the Department of Environment Forest and Climate Change.

The Bihar VanMitra app provides user friendly interface to Individuals Farmers NGOs Industries PSUs and Government Officials to register themselves and avail services such as requesting plants as per their own choices of quantity and species selecting the nearest nursery for plant collection and managing plantation site information etc.

This mobile app will also track the progress of activities at plantation site regularly under Mission 2.51 cr. Plantation Campaign in Bihar using the data provided by the monitoring in-charge of the actual site of plantation with its location and photographs. The cumulative progress of the plantation will be monitored by the Officials of Department of Environment Forest and Climate Change Government of Bihar and other Dignitaries on a Reporting Dashboard within the mobile app.

In future this app will be expended with the more services so as to have an effective department-citizen interface to avail all the services provided by the department.
